Pattern posted

Yeah, Keep and Share came to the rescue,
of course if I would just read the directions, things wouldn't be so complicated.  the log in on the site clearly says "account name"  so of course, i used my email address.  sheesh!!!!!

Any way,  the Daisy & Butterfly Bookmark pattern is available in pdf form through the Patterns tab at the top of this page.  All of my patterns will soon be moved there, and my patterns blog will be discontinued.

I forgot to take a picture of this before sending it to Fox, so she kindly allowed me to borrow the picture she took..

Some whining

I have updated the graphics on my Daisy & Butterfly bookmark pattern (you can see a sample on Fox's blog) that I want to post to my Keep and Share account and then post the link here for all of you.  Keep and Share won't let me in. I tried the "forgot password" and even copied and pasted their answer and still can't get in.   I have emailed them, but it maybe next week before I can post it.

Blogger seems to have decided not to show the number of posts I stated was acceptable for my home page - 7 lately it has only shown 1 or 2.

Time is too short.  it is now saturday,  I will be leaving wednesday on a trip to west Texas, and won't get back until monday eve/tuesday morning.  I am not at all ready, don't even know what I need to take.  a Dress for the wedding ~ obviously, a swimsuit for the hotsprings in Big Bend state park ~ that would be good,  Tatting stuff ~ of course, but what else???  need to fit it all in a carry on and hobo style shoulder bag.

I need more time to tat, I have projects I want to finish.  I am working on a commissioned  piece right now, it should be finished tonight. then I will post that.

I could whine more, but to what purpose, so to lighten the mood before you leave, here is a picture of an "oreo cookie" calf.  we get one occasionally.  last years calf, is out in the east pasture,  that one is a vanilla "oreo cookie" calf.  cute as a button.  This one I can see out my window as I am typing this. She is shy and doesn't usually stand so nice.

and while getting this off my camera card, I realized I hadn't shared some of the squash and watermelon that I grew this year, so here they are.

some of the 58 squash
There were 16 watermelon when I pulled the vines. Anyone for a picnic?

Tatting Guinness Record

I participated in the Palmetto Tatter's quest to get in the Guinness World Record books for the most tatters at one time tatting the same pattern.
I was able to finish 3 of the snowflakes and I sang along with the rest of the group.
They documented 127 tatters gathered in the room or connected through online chat/social stream.
Thanks ladies for the fun.  hope we get accepted.

Hanky Edging Progress

I have been working on the Edging for the hanky I won in Michelle's giveaway earlier this year.

I chose to do Mary Konior's Beauty Spots Edging from her book Tatting with Visual Patterns.
I also chose a HDT from Krystle, one of Dr VonThreadmore's pretty threads called Wisteria Lane in size 40.

I have been working on this edging on and off since May
well, here is what I have been able to get done in between other projects.

as you can see, I am 1 repeat short of the 3rd corner. and I learned an interesting thing about this hanky,  it isn't square, it takes 13 repeats between corner elements on the left and right sides and 14 repeats on the top and bottom.  gave me a bit of a panic the first time I realized this, but decided that it wouldn't be that noticeable.

I have unfortunately run into a snag,
sorry for the shadows

the amount of thread that you can barely see on the shuttle is all that is left of a full skein of Krystle's thread.
I contacted Krystle, Dr VonThreadmore's associate to see if there was any of this thread still available, however, all of it is gone for the present.  There may be a new batch coming later this fall, so for now, this will go in the WIP section.

I cooked another 18qrt roaster full of apples again today.  the last batch made 16 pints of apple butter,  this roaster full should give us about 7 qrts of apple sauce.

The garden frosted 2 nights this past week.  only covered the tomatoes the 2nd night and the first wasn't supposed to get that cold.  I have been waiting for enough tomatoes to ripen to do some canning.  since they only got touched on the tops of the plants, I am hoping that they will recover enough to finish ripening the many tomatoes on the plants.  should be above freezing now for the next week or so, maybe I will get lucky.

I was able to can 26 pints of green beans, 7 qrts of dill pickles and did get 16 watermelon out of the garden, and will have to gather the squash tomorrow.  and the Carrots need digging.

hope you have all had a productive Saturday and will be having an enjoyable Sunday.
