International Tatting Day and a new T.I.A.S

Today is International Tatting Day, the day to take some time for yourself, eat chocolate and do some tatting for fun and hopefully in public to promote the art of tatted lace.

Since in the previous post I mentioned that I didn't leave for work until noon today due to the snow we had, I did my tatting at home, as there wouldn't be time after getting to work.

I did eat chocolate at work though.

I am working on a doily based on the medallion that I posted about before leaving on vacation, I will show it to you in a couple of days when it is finished.

but I do have some tatting to show you today.

this is step 1 of a new T.I.A.S (Tat It And See) presented by Dani

you can find the directions for this new project at the T.I.A.S blog

so without furter ado....
hhmmm what will it be???? What will it be???

  2. Hi TattingChic,
I have it wound on an old thread spool, so I am pretty sure that it is a hand dyed thread that I picked up on Etsy, but I can't find the label, However, I have located the picture in my scanner's files and I would have blogged about it last October.
so far this t.i.a.s isn't too hard, time will tell.
    Are you doing it too?

  4. No, not this time! I haven't even finished the last one yet that Iris Niebach did. I'd like to, but she seems to be cranking out the pattern parts pretty fast! I've got a jillion other things I need to get done first, LOL! :)

  5. I would have loved to to Iris's but other things intervened. Sherry's lighthouse bookmark was the first one I did.

  7. Hello,

I'm so excited to have found this blog site. I'm a mother of 4 little ones and expecting my 5th in July. I've been on bedrest since January and discovered needle tatting which has saved my sanity!!! I LOVE IT!!! I'm working on a vintage doiley. I would love to tat a first Communion veil for my girls. That is 2 years away, but that give me time to improve. Anyways I hope if you don't mind me asking advice sometimes. God bless you all and have a great day!!!
