North Dakota Spring

it is early spring here in North Dakota and how I know is the Apricots are blooming, want to see?

and since the weather doesn't look like it will freeze, and it has been nice enough for the flies and bees to be out, we may actually get some apricots this year.
apricot rhubarb jam is oh so very good

  1. Mmmmmmm! Apricot rhubarb jam sounds awesome :)

It's so nice to see everything blooming this early - and the birds are certainly busy in my back yard.

  3. I'm not a big fan of jam, but those flowers are gorgeous!

    1. I hope so too Sharren, but they are predicting below freezing for a couple nights this next week and 1 of them down to 25, so no way will the baby apricots survive that. I am hoping that doesn't happen.

  5. Apricots! What a wonderful thing to have--I've never seen their blossoms before and they're as pretty as I'd imagined.

    1. they are good fresh off the tree, and in jam, but i have tried to can them as sauce, and no amount of sugar will be enough. don't know why but as canned, they will pucker your mouth.
