quicky post

just a couple of things

Size 40 Olympus in red and size 40 Flora in green,  The Olympus is a larger 40 than the Flora

Size 40 Lizbeth with DMC metalic blending filament.

I have a 2014 payroll seminar to attend tomorrow. Oh so much fun as I have to leave home at 7:30 am to get there.  But it means I get to have supper with my son as he lives in that city.  And in the evening I will be able to meet a gal with some sock machines and I will get to play a bit and check out the different kinds.

have a wonderful day.

  2. I like the snowflakes, especially the one on the left.

Yes, I've always thought the Olympus size "40" is more like somewhere between a 30 and a 20. It's a lovely thread, but that difference in size makes it hard to combine with other threads. In this case, it works nicely, though, as it makes the berries stand out more on the wreath.

    1. They are actually the same pattern, but I changed the JK to a regular ring which was large enough to join the next arm to. Based on a pattern pinned by someone, posted by someone, shared by someone on facebook, but no name for the designer.

  3. They are so beautiful!
How dit you manage to have a nice chain with the josephine knot done with the core thread? I gave this pattern a try and I stopped after 3 outer chains because I was not able to make them nice.

    1. Corina, the Josephine Knots are done with the chain thread not the core thread. YOu would need to use 2 shuttles to tat this, as the large ring at the top of the arms is also done with the 2nd shuttle.

    2. I worked with 2 shuttles... :( . I must stare again at the pattern... My red thread was the core thread, the green one, obviously wreapes arount it... I assumed it was like this. Thank you.

    3. Corina, I apologize, I was thinking about the snowflake with josephine knots when I gave you my answer above.
For the wreath, I should have stated that I did the center rings as SCMR, that way I could have the red thread on my shuttle as the core thread and the green thread on the ball. When you do the Josephine Knot berries with the core thread, you don't have to RW, simply drop the green thread off your hand, and wrap the red thread as you would for a ring. Be sure you snug your first (or 2nd) half ds right down to the chain with no loose thread space. Make your JK and close it, then tie or join your red shuttle thread around the red thread at the base of the JK, it may not seem like there is space, but you can do it. Then wrap the green around your hand again and continue with the next picot. The reason you tie to the base of your JK is that puts your core thread as close as you can get it to the core in the 1st part of the chain. If you do not tie to the base of the JK, you will find that the picot is spread wider then it should be and there is a gap in the chain.
Best of luck, and if you need any help, let me know, you can find my email in my profile.

    4. Thank you so much! I was reversing the work to make the JK. This must have been the mistake.

    Lovely snowflakes, love both patterns.
Hope you have a good day, these things can be boring by the afternoon.

  5. I love that wreath! I am fascinated by sock machines, but the prices are always so high they scare me. I might have to sell a few of my tatting shuttles to be able to afford one! ;-)

  10. Hey there! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any issues with hackers?
My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing
months of hard work due to no back up. Do you have any methods to protect against hackers?
