first one

This is the first of many, possibly 3 dozen, we will see.

This is a doodad snowflake, the pattern is one of Diane's at  Lace Lovin Librarian

I blended Lizbeth size 40 white with Kreinik Metallics Very fine Braid size #4 in silver. The 2 threads together are about a size 20.
The doodad is from Fire Mountain Gems #H20-4335FX it is a small crystal in the center for added sparkle.

I hope you are having a very good weekend.

  1. Very pretty, and sparkly, I'm sure, in person! Adding the metallic thread worked out well! And doodads are so perfect for snowflakes! The thought of making 3 dozen would overwhelm me, but you're used to taking on big tasks!

  4. That's what I call sparkle! I'll have to go back to Fire Mountain Gems. I don't remember seeing that doodad. There sure is a lot to choose from over there!

How did you like working with the Kreinik? I think I'm getting ready to try metallic thread again.

    1. I have no problems with Kreinik blending filaments, I have used quite a few of them. This is the first time I have used a braid, and it worked out well.

    2. Oh, Diane, and I have the same ornament hooks you got. I bought some right away when you posted, put them aside and have to locate them now.

    3. I love those ornament hooks! I looked up your doodads and bookmarked them. They may become part of my next purchase. I think I'll try that Kreinik as well. Thanks for the inspiration!
